The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) continues its support to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) by providing fuel assistance for the use of Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives (Masco).

MBCCI president Frank Carbon yesterday turned over the gas coupons to Senior Supt. Melchor Coronel, officer-in-charge of BCPO.

The MBCCI extended their assistance to the city police when Coronel re-activated the Masco which was created during the stint of former BCPO chief, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz.
Carbon said that every month, they will provide a fuel assistance for the Masco teams of BCPO.

Last week, Coronel directed all station chiefs to create Masco teams to be deployed to different schools.

Carbon said they are helping the city police to improve the peace and order especially during the opening of classes on Monday.

“It’s important that policemen are visible in streets for immediate response to any crimes,” he said.

Other business groups have also signified their intent to give fuel assistance to the BCPO.

Carbon said they recognized that peace and security is not only the responsibility of the policemen but also of the whole community.

“The success of the police is also a success of the city,” the MBCCI chief said.

For his part, Coronel thanked the MBCCI and other business groups who expressed willingness to help the city police maintain peace and order.

Coronel said the assistance of the business sector is a big help to the BCPO in improving their performance.

He said the gas coupons will be divided among the Masco teams of every station.

The Masco teams, who are using their personal motorcycles, will be divided into two shifts – two personnel in the morning, and another two in the evening.
