The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested for the extension of the Business One-Stop-Shop and business permit issuance, until February 28.
Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he already signed a request to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, seeking an extension of the BOSS, that started Jan. 3 and supposed to end on Jan. 20.
Leonardia said this is a usual practice. Every time the business group asks for an extension, this is being granted by the SP as a matter of tradition.
He said Permits and Licensing Division head, Stela Rose Rayos, reported that, as of Tuesday, the city’s total business registration was 6,281, which by their standards is very fast. It means that it is at a rate of an average of about 1,570 a day.
“We are happy with this development because it shows that we are sustaining our being business-friendly. And this is very important and critical to the business climate in Bacolod,” Leonardia said.
Meanwhile, Rayos said that from January 3, they have encoded about 3,400 business registration. They have processed about 16,000 business permits last year. As of yesterday, they have processed about 3,400 and they expect to exceed their target last year.*
