The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently sponsored a seminar-workshop which focused attention on the past, present and future investments of the Province of Negros Occidental for the development of tourism in this province.

The speakers were: MBCCI President Frank Carbon who discussed the “Presentation and Validation of Tourism Data’PCCI’s 5 As of Tourism; Engr. Jean Espinosa who elaborated on the “Provincial Strategic Directions” from the Provincial Planning Office; Ms. Cristine C. Mansiñares who discussed, “Convergence Road Update” where she elaborated on the present road networks and future plans of Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. which is directed towards enhancing tourism activities in Negros Occidental.
The participants were divided into four groups after the lunch break in an effort to study and make recommendations towards directing efforts of the various sectors in encouraging investments in tourism endeavors.
Ms. Mansiñares also cited the efforts of her office in training programs to enhance service delivery in tourism establishment.
She also elaborated on the 5A’s in Tourism programs which cover:
A1 – Arrival
A2 – Access
A3 – Accommodation
A4 – Activities
A5 – Attractions
Prof. George C. Zulueta announced that this seminar-workshop is just the beginning of the programs and projects to enhance the tourism efforts of the Province of Negros Occidental, and, Bacolod City.
