MBCCI together with the Officers of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Bankers Club, PhilSuCor, Association of Negros Producers and other business organizations met with the Chairman of the Board and Officers of BACIWA.
The key points and results of the meeting are:
WATER SUPPLY
Short-Term actions will be undertaken by BACIWA Management to ensure supply in case of power outages (brownouts) which may include:
- Purchase of power generators
- CENECO giving BACIWA a favored client treatment, meaning, as much as possible CENECO will spare BACIWA’s deep-well pumps from power outages.
Mid-Term action, the group suggested to BACIWA to study the possibility of inter -connecting its supply lines with Talisay City Water District and Murcia Water District where spring and surface water are abundant and in excess of the need of the two water districts.
Long-Term action, the group urged BACIWA to finalize the Term of Reference for Bulk Water Supply before end of the third quarter this year.
REDUCE DEPENDENCE TO DEEPWELL
Chairman Villanueva informed the group that BACIWA is preparing a long-term plan to reduce dependence to deep-well or underground water. GM Carbon promised to complete the study/plan before the end of the third quarter and furnish the group a copy of the plan thru MBCCI.
The key points and results of the meeting are:
The group offered to assist BACIWA for take-out of its high interest bearing loan with LWUA. MBCCI had an exploratory talked with DBP and DBP is interested to take a look at the take-out proposal of BACIWA. The executives of DBP promised to make presentation with LWUA in behalf of BACIWA. The group (MBCCI and other organizations) will follow-up the development of the "take-out" proposal.
